Latin

English (Elwes 1883)

I call free him who is led solely by reason; he, therefore, who is born free, and who remains free, has only adequate ideas; therefore (IV. lxiv. Coroll.) he has no conception of evil, or consequently (good and evil being correlative) of good. Q.E.D.

Modern English

I call free one who is led solely by reason. One who is born free and remains free therefore has only adequate ideas, and consequently has no concept of bad (E4P64C) — and therefore no concept of good either, since good and bad are correlative. Q.E.D.
