Hinc sequitur hominem necessario passionibus esse semper obnoxium communemque Naturæ ordinem sequi et eidem parere seseque eidem quantum rerum natura exigit, accommodare.

Hence it follows, that man is necessarily always a prey to his passions, that he follows and obeys the general order of nature, and that he accommodates himself thereto, as much as the nature of things demands.

From this it follows that a human being is always and necessarily subject to passions, that he follows and obeys the common order of Nature, and that he accommodates himself to it as much as the nature of things demands.
