Hæc propositio per se patet. Qui enim inter verum et falsum scit distinguere, debet adæquatam veri et falsi habere ideam hoc est (per II scholium propositionis 40 hujus) verum et falsum secundo aut tertio cognitionis genere cognoscere.

This proposition is self--evident. He, who knows how to distinguish between true and false, must have an adequate idea of true and false. That is (II. xl., note ii.), he must know the true and the false by the second or third kind of knowledge.

Modern English

This proposition is self-evident. Whoever knows how to distinguish between the true and the false must have an adequate idea of the true and the false, that is, by (E2P40S2), must know the true and the false by the second or third kind of knowledge.
