Latin

Hæc lætitia magis magisque fovetur quo magis homo se ab aliis laudari imaginatur. Nam quo magis se ab aliis laudari imaginatur eo majore lætitia alios ab ipso affici imaginatur idque concomitante idea sui (per scholium propositionis 29 hujus) atque adeo (per propositionem 27 hujus) ipse majore lætitia concomitante idea sui afficitur. Q.E.D.

English (Elwes 1883)

This pleasure is fostered more and more, in proportion as a man conceives himself to be praised by others. For the more he conceives himself as praised by others, the more he will imagine them to be affected with pleasure, accompanied by the idea of himself (III. xxix. note); thus he is (III. xxvii.) himself affected with greater pleasure, accompanied by the idea of himself. Q.E.D.

Modern English

This joy is fostered more and more the more a person imagines himself praised by others. For the more he imagines others praising him, the more he imagines them affected with joy accompanied by the idea of him (E3P29S), and so (E3P27) he himself is affected with greater joy accompanied by the idea of himself. Q.E.D.
